I started working in film production in 2010 while studying Creative Writing at the University of Missouri- Columbia. With a background in storytelling, I moved into the realm of the visual arts as a Grip. I was fascinated with light and its ability to create and shape an image, which soon led to an interest in capturing that image through a lens. Within a year I had founded the MU Film Production Club, been a part of numerous short, feature length and documentary films and began as a freelance Production Assistant and Grip.
Since then, I have worked freelance as an Assistant Camera, Dolly Grip, Editor, Gaffer, Producer and Director for both professional and casual productions. From Wedding Videography and Music Video gigs to Television, Film and Stage Productions, I have gained a breadth of experience and knowledge while still attending school.
Throughout this time I have also maintained a firm interest in diversifying my creative skill set. From graphic design and print layout to video editing and post-production visual effects, my interests have propelled my experiences in digital creation. I have also gained experience in social media management, email marketing, SEO, content marketing and basic web design through a variety of marketing oppportunities. Currently I work at the headquarters for a national franchise company as their Marketing Specialist in Kansas City. It’s been a great experience and I hope to continue learning and developing my career.
